Welcome to the home of the "microPAV" program.
This program is designed to be part of a total pavement management system.
It provides computer assistance to the Pavement Management process for
flexible (asphalt) and rigid (concrete) pavement surfaces including
streets, roads and parking lots. It is based upon the Pavement Condition
Index (PCI) which is described in detail in the US Army Corps of
Engineers, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL), Technical
Report M-294 "Pavement Maintenance Management for Roads and Parking Lots"
dated October 1981 by M. Y. Shahin and S. D. Kohn.
A pavement management system using "microPAV" would involve collecting distress
types and severity levels for each street segment. That information would be
entered in the microPAV program and stored in several data table and used to
calculate a Pavement Condition Index for each pavement segment. This program
has fully automated the calculation of the nineteen different distress curves,
adjusted deduct curves and pavement condition index (PCI) calculations. It
will assist the user in the data entry process with drop down pick lists and
many custom dialog screens. It includes numerous flexible reports aimed at
both the user and management levels of pavement maintenance. “microPAV” is
designed to run on any 32-bit Windows platform (Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT 4)
including network systems. If the built-in reports are not enough, “microPAV”
also includes a unique field that could be used to link the main data tables
to other systems such as Crystal Reports or a GIS program. Back to Top
